How did you start your business?
Zoe and Piper started out as a family business. We have been in the jewelry business for 15 years, showcasing a wide array of artisan jewelry. This year, we started a new line of sterling silver jewelry that showcases our style and philosophy... Zoe and Piper was born!
Who or what inspires you?
The name is inspired by my daughter, Piper... If only we could see the world through a child's eyes, wouldn't it be a better place?
My first pendants speak for themselves, literally. My buddha pendant has words of inspiration written across the front and back: "Compassion, Karma, Peace, Love, Kindness, Respect and Tranquility" - words to live by. The Herbivore pendant speaks out for Vegetarians, Vegans and Animals alike.
At Zoe and Piper, we are proud to donate a portion of our proceeds to select animal sanctuaries and advocacy groups. Working with and caring for animals has always been an important part of my life, and this is my little way of giving back.
Do you have a favorite piece/product?
Definitely the HERBIVORE pendant in sterling silver (shown above). When you are wearing this necklace, you are showing your love for the animals. I originally designed it because I wanted a pretty necklace that spoke out for animals, but couldn't find exactly what I was looking for. Now I have.
Are you working on anything new?
Oh yes, we are in the middle of several new designs. A few more words pendants and charms, a buddha pendant, and a couple unisex pieces so the men don't feel left out! I am aiming to have them available before the holidays.
What is one thing you want people to know about you and/or your business?
I am passionate about my jewelry and my business, I don't want to design pieces strictly for their mass appeal. I want them to have meaning behind them, a feel good charm about them that speaks to people.
Just for fun question: What is the first thing you'd buy if you won a $20 million dollar lottery prize?
An animal shelter or a farm sanctuary for sure. Of course, it wouldn't hurt to have a little larger home with a nice big backyard... that way I could have room for a few new rescue animals, right?
